"Mendham Borough is a picturesque community with a historic past dating back to Colonial days. Historic preservation is evident along Route 24, the main commercial thoroughfare. Small offices and shops are found in well-maintained Colonial and Victorian frame dwellings. The Town Hall is located in Phoenix House, one of the finest examples of Federal architecture in Morris County, and historic 1740's Ebenezer Byram home is now the well know Black Horse Inn. Mendham Borough is generally characterized as an upper income residential community with residents commuting to New York City and North Jersey business and industrial firms. Route 24 provides quick access to major metropolitan arterial highways, such as routes I-287, I-280, I-80 and I-78. The Borough has an excellent public elementary school system. Secondary school students attend West Morris Mendham Regional High School. In addition, many fine private schools are available within the region."
